I struggled with myself to stop painting before adding too much. I had a deep though about the background, but no, i went for this minimalistic approach.

I like the use of the orange as a mid-tone.
Which one? I use this skin-tone quite (too) often.
I’m glad you stopped. I think adding anything to the background might have taken away from the stregth of the face and hands.
Sometimes it really feels like being on a tightrope: caring about the balance.
